FIELD: powder-type fire extinguisher. SUBSTANCE: to actuate fire extinguisher, pin is withdrawn and lever is pressed to handle. Valve is moved from seat and opens channel. Simultaneously collet detents act on annular protrusion and displace plunger upward. At final stage of motion, collet enters bushing. In so doing , detents slide off the shoulder and plunger under the action of compressed spring moves downward and pricks with its striker the cap of gas- generating member or breaks through the membrane of gas bottle. Formed gas enters the reservoir and forces fire-extinguishing powder through siphon, channel and hose to fire seat. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 4 cl, 2 dwg
