FIELD: fire-fighting equipment. SUBSTANCE: locking-starting head has casing with members for attaching to fire-extinguisher reservoir, handle connected to casing, locking device equipped with rod and valve attached thereto, control lever, siphon tube, pressure indicator, and spraying nozzle. Pressure indicator is positioned on valve rod having opening for communicating indicator cavity under membrane with head cavity under valve. Indicator valve and membrane are made integral to form hollow elastic sleeve. Diameter of rod flange, to which valve portion defined by sleeve wall edges is attached, is equal to minimal diameter of valve seat. Casing is made in the form of thin-walled stepped-diameter cylinder made integral with handle. Narrowed portion in lower part of cylinder at the level of valve forms valve seat. Pressure indicator is coaxially arranged in casing. Cylindrical circumferential protrusions on pressure indicator upper end are adapted for contacting with mated cylindrical slots on control lever. Viewing window is positioned in control lever opposite to pressure indicator face. Pressure indicator is positioned so that scale is read at head handle side. Locking-starting head is adapted for charging powder fire extinguishers, where powder is thrown under excessive pressure, and may be used as primary means for suppressing class A fires (solid substances), class B fires (liquid substances), class C fires (gaseous substances), electrical equipment under voltage of up to 1,000 V, as well as for suppressing fires on vehicles. Said head provides for pulsed mode of operation allowing fire extinguisher consumption to be controlled depending on fire intensity. EFFECT: simplified construction, enhanced reliability in operation due to eliminating the probability of unsealing during storage because of reduced number of joints. 5 cl, 2 dwg
