FIELD: obtaining of degradated products from high-molecular compounds used as a base for production of additives of polyfunctional action, organic binders, modifying agents of various types, etc., as well as devices for use in combination worm-disk extruders for obtaining of low-molecular products by the degradation method. SUBSTANCE: the method consists in degradation of high-molecular compounds being in melt in the disk adapter by way of mechanical action on them. Prior to degradation of high-molecular compounds in the disk adapter, their preliminary degradation is accomplished in a worm extruder. Prior to degradation of high-molecular compounds in the disk extruder, alternation of linear and radial-tangential displacements of melt in the material movement duct are carried out. The work-disk extruder has a feed roller, worm with a screw thread located in it and connected to the drive, and a successively positioned disk adapter. The adapter has a body, at least two disks installed on a common shaft, and a drive. The adapter body is provided with disks fixed on it, forming with the adapter shaft disks a duct for material movement. Each adapter disk has slots. The feed roller has explosive bolts, and the worm - a cowl. The description of the device modification is also given. EFFECT: obtaining of low-molecular products by way of mechanical and thermal action on high-molecular compounds being in a viscid-liquid state. 3 cl, 3 dwg
