FIELD: production of oil from wells with use of well sucker-rod pumps. SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for protection of pumps against harmful effect of gas. Separator includes inlet branch pipe with holes in upper part and flow swirler, separation chamber with gas-release valve, suction collector communicating with lower part of separation chamber. Upper part of inlet branch pipe with flow swirler is placed concentrically in separation chamber, chamber being installed in suction collector. Hydraulic length of inlet branch pipe and separation chamber provides for water seal preventing passage of gas. EFFECT: raised separation capability of gas separator. 1 cl, 2 dwg
