FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: process used for calibrating stroboscopic transducers (oscilloscopes) designed for high-precision measurements of superbroad-band electric signals involves use of calibration source with precisely known time variables t; output signal is used to determine number of readings n of time variable t at different positions of output signal in aperture; instability in read-out step ΔT is compensated for according to difference in n; then signal pairs spaced apart through definite delay time θ, are applied to transducer input . Number of readings m between pairs of output signals is measured, and read-out step ΔT = θ/m is calculated. EFFECT: improved measurement accuracy; reduced cost of time- calibration means. 5 dwg
