FIELD: cryogenic and aerospace engineering, medicine, advanced transportation systems. SUBSTANCE: electrical machine has laminated-core stator carrying multiphase and multipole winding and cylindrical rotor built up of ferromagnetic parts with nonmagnetic gaps in-between that carries squirrel- cage winding. Nonmagnetic gaps of rotor are filled either with composite high-temperature semiconductor strip of high carrying capacity or with diamagnetic high-temperature superconducting material in the form of films deposited on substrate. Ferromagnetic parts and nonmagnetic gaps of rotor are made in the form of alternating layers. EFFECT: improved power output, efficiency, power factor, reduced mass and size of machine. 2 cl, 2 dwg
