FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves performing daily measuring of air temperature and humidity, when lower tier pea beans become brown; calculating coefficient from formula: , where Tmax is maximum daily air temperature, C; Hmin is minimum daily relative air humidity, %; counting possible pea bean preharvest losses due to self-falling during maturing on the basis of obtained coefficient. When mentioned coefficient is within the range of 0.15-0.74, preharvest pea losses are considered minimum. Method may be used in selecting time for harvesting pea by direct combining.
