FIELD: restoration of machine parts. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of comparing dimensions of worn cam with dimensions of reference one for determining quantity of composition necessary for its restoration. Composition contains mixture including 90 vol% of powdered self-fluxing solder with particle size 40-60 micrometers and 10% of binder. Mixture is applied onto surface of steel belt whose width is equal to that of cam. On mean portion of belt mixture is placed in the form of protruded mass. On belt portions between its mean and end portions mixture is placed by layer with thickness 30-50 micrometers. Belt is placed onto cam for filling with protruded mass worn zone of cam. Ends of belt are welded. Soldering-on roller is approached to outer surface of belt for rolling outer surface of belt around roller. Cam is driven to rotation with variable revolution number proportional to curvature radius of shaped surface of belt for overlapping soldered seams. Rolling around process is realized until full hardening of self-fluxing solder at simultaneous liquid cooling of contact zone of roller and belt. Binder includes 60 vol% of lubricant grease and 40 vol% of petrolatum. EFFECT: enhanced quality of cam restoration, rational restoration process. 6 cl, 6 dwg
