FIELD: mechanical engineering; repair of stepped shafts and crankshafts in different articles. SUBSTANCE: part worn-out surface is subjected to machining preliminarily and repair member heated to 350-450 C is fitted on. Repair member is rolled to shaft journal surface by flat rollers with application of torque to shaft. Edges of repair member are tacked by resistance welder. Welding is done by spots in staggered order. Spots can be applied in the form of grid with side of cell equal to 10-20 mm. Butt joint clearance between edges of repair member is filled with high temperature hard solder. EFFECT: provision of high quality of repair surfaces and high performance characteristics of journals subjected to repair. 2 cl, 3 dwg
