FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: described is production of 1,2-dichloroethane (ethylene dichloride) by adding ethylene and chlorine to circulating ethylene dichloride under vigorous stirring and regeneration of heat. Reaction is carried out at temperature of 65-125 C and absolute pressure from 0.5 to 3.2 bar. Method is accomplished so as to make reaction mixture boil, and reaction heat is withdrawn from space filled with gases and directed to at least one heat exchanger. Process is carried out on setup, which includes stirred reactor, heat exchanger, preferably distillation column, capacitor, and drier. Control of reaction course is made more effective, formation of by-products is avoided, and expenses are reduced. EFFECT: more efficient preparation method. 11 cl, 3 dwg, 1 ex
