SUBSTANCE: described are substituted benzenesulfonyl thiourea of formula I: wherein R(1) is (C₁-C₆) alkyl; R(2) is (C₁-C₆) alkoxy; R(3) is hydrogen, R(4), R(5) and R(6) are hydrogen, aryl or (C₁-C₆) alkyl; E is sulfur atom; X is oxygen, Y is (-CH₂-), and pharmaceutically tolerable salts thereof. Said compounds are capable of inhibiting potassium canals of heart with improved sensitivity to antiarrhythmic activity. Also described are method of preparing compounds of formula I by reacting benzene sulfonylamide of formula II: or salt thereof III; with R(1)-substituted isothiocyanates R(1)-N= C=S wherein R(1)-R(6), X, Y are as defined above, and M is alkali or alkaline earth metal, and pharmaceutical agent having antiarrhythmic activity.
