FIELD: laser engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed method involves using elongated zone of interaction between lased radiation and electrons passed through tunnel junction and also using elongated electricity-conducting electrodes to organize waveguide structure distinguished by low optical loss and designed to convey lased radiation along elongated interaction zone. Device implementing proposed method may be made, for example, of at least pair of approximately parallel insulating strips transparent to lased radiation and covered with optically transparent insulator but slightly absorbing lased rays. Device is suitable for use in nanotechnology to produce high-power monochromatic radiation. EFFECT: reduced size and enhanced efficiency of re-tunable device. 34 cl, 15 dwg
