PRECISION PIEZOELECTRIC DRIVE Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

Abstract RU 2190920 C1

FIELD: micropositioning of objects and microprobes in instrumentation engineering and precision machine-tool construction. SUBSTANCE: drive has movable body made in the form of polyhedron, means for applying force to this body along its longitudinal axis, clamp with piezoid engageable with body, and voltage supply connected to this body; clamp is made in the form of at least two pairs of piezoids engageable with one of movable-body surfaces and means for holding body tight to them; voltage supply is designed to control piezoids by applying either DC or ac voltage to adjacent piezoids in phase opposition. EFFECT: facilitated manufacture. 3 dwg
