FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves accessing the inferior vena cava. The inferior vena cava is released from compression caused by cirrhotically transformed liver. The greater omentum flap on a pedicle is brought to the selected inferior vena cava behind the liver to diaphragm. The second flap of the greater omentum on a pedicle is transferred into the anterior mediastinum in front of the pericardium behind the sternum. EFFECT: reduced pressure in the inferior vena cava.
