FIELD: transport engineering; hydraulically controlled steering gears. SUBSTANCE: proposed steering gear has steering wheel mechanically coupled through steering mechanism with front wheel distributor housing. Front wheel distributor spool is hydraulically coupled with pump and steering hydraulic booster tank and front wheel slave hydraulic cylinder and is mechanically coupled with hydraulic cylinder rod and front wheel steering linkage. Rear wheel distributor housing is mechanically coupled with front wheel steering linkage, and its spool is hydraulically coupled with pump and steering hydraulic booster tank, and rear wheel slave hydraulic cylinder and is mechanically coupled with hydraulic cylinder rod and rear wheel steering linkage. Novelty in design of steering gear is use of Maltese cross mechanism consisting of two cranks with cogs and cross installed on axle immovably coupled with vehicle frame. Cranks are connected with front wheel steering linkage, and cross, with rear wheel steering linkage. EFFECT: improved rigidly of rear wheel steering linkage, simplified design of steering linkage providing control of angular velocity of turning of rear steerable wheels. 1 dwg
