GAUZE FILLER FOR CONSTRUCTION AND HIGHWAY ENGINEERING Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

Abstract RU 2160334 C2

FIELD: materials based on glass fiber and water-insoluble polymeric binders, applicable in construction as a reinforcing material in production of the external power-saving warmth-keeping jacket of buildings and structures, at construction, reconstruction and repair of asphalt-concrete pavements of motor roads, for reinforcing of plaster both of interior and exterior surfaces. SUBSTANCE: the gauze filler has an interwoven gauze with cells measuring from 2x2 mm to 25x25 mm, obtained by interweaving of the main and filler complex threads in the form of a system of 2 to 8 slightly twisted threads. The gauze structure is friable due to the use of special complex threads and method for their interweaving. The gauze is impregnated with an alkali-proof polymeric compound, for example, with aqueous dispersion of copolymer of ethyl-acrylic acid and styrene. Production of the gauze filler in the form of a glass gauze results in attainment of high strength properties both in lateral and longitudinal characteristics. Selection of the cell sizes provides for the best holding of cement mortar in the construction systems and of bitumenous polymeric, asphalt-concrete or some other pavement in the systems of "pavement" and enhances the carrying capacity of the reinforcing layer and of the whole pavement on the whole. The friable structure of the gauzes providing for a good quality of impregnation, possibility of intensified impregnation makes them irreplaceable as reinforcing material in construction systems and in construction, reconstruction and repair of asphalt-concrete pavements of motor roads. EFFECT: enhanced strength characteristics at low mass and dimensional characteristics, enhanced convenience in service; the gauze filler has passed experimental-commercial tests. 3 cl, 2 dwg, 1 tbl
