FIELD: instruments for approximate linear measurements. SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for use in agriculture, water handling facilities and forestry. Meter is fabricated in the form of lengthened rod with jaw and has holes made at certain distance and frame moving over rod together with jaw. Frame has one hole arranged opposite to jaw. Holes are meant for installation of stopping pins. Meter is fitted with measuring scales with start of zero reading on rod from frame end at moment of touching of jaws and on frame from center of hole. Holder is made fast to frame in parallel to jaws. Technical result of invention is possibility of measurement of objects at some distance, for instance, not closer than 1.5 m from object, expanded range of parameters of measurement such as diameter, height, width, depth, measurement of linear parameters of large size, provision for access to points, for example, trunk of tree with heavily burred tops.
