FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: device used for measuring speed, motion direction, and length of elongated products in the course of their manufacture, cutting, and metering as well as for measuring speed of and distance covered by various vehicles (railway, subway, automobile, and other kinds of transport) has optical transducer and electronic unit. Transducer has optical transmitting channel, optical receiving channel, optical raster formed by input ends of fiber light conductors, and three photodetectors. Electronic unit has two adders, phase meter, frequency counter, and computer. Device incorporating functions of entity speed, length, and motion direction meter makes it possible to measure length of entities whose direction of motion may vary in the course of measurements.
