FIELD: nuclear power plants. SUBSTANCE: when hydrogen is detected inside power plant containment 8, inert gases should be introduced into its atmosphere. In order to prevent pressure rise within containment 8 during introduction of inert gases, we propose method and device which also provide exhaust ventilation for containment atmosphere. To this end, use is made of reversible reactivity-retention equipment 4, 4Т providing for exhaust ventilation without escape of radioactive materials into environment. So, admission of inert gases into containment 8 may be likewise used as preventive maintenance procedure. EFFECT: improved safety of plant; provision for preventing escape of radioactive materials into atmosphere. 15 cl, 2 dwg
