GEAR TO CLEAN HOLES FROM MUD Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: mining industry, equipment to flush holes drilled in prospecting for crude oil and gas. SUBSTANCE: gear to clean holes from mud includes nonrotatory drill pipes, drill bit, driving-in motor and centering mounts with blades arranged at acute angle with axis of drill pipes. Gear is fitted with turbines mounted behind centering mounts for rotation about their longitudinal axes under action of flow of flushing fluid. Outer diameter of turbine is less then outer diameter of centering mounts. Direction of blades of centering mounts along flow of flushing fluid coincides with direction of rotation of drill bit. Blades of centering mounts are directed at angle of 30-160 degrees with regard to blades of turbines. Length of each centering mount exceeds its diameter. Number of blades of each centering mount exceeds number of blades of each turbine by one. Usage of gear to clean holes from mud makes it possible to clean completely horizontal and inclined sections of shaft of hole from mud and thanks to it reduce by 30-40% time spent to fight complications and emergencies in holes and to raise labor productivity by 15- 20%. Gear can be used for drilling of any holes where mudding of circular conduit is observed. But it most efficient while drilling predominantly inclined and horizontal sections of shafts of holes for oil and gas with use of driving-in motors.
