FIELD: materials handling facilities. SUBSTANCE: belt conveyor has drum installed for rotation relative to vertical central axle and endless conveyor belt moving on part of its path along spiral trajectory in several wraps around drum and in contact with drum periphery. Drum has many vertical plates distributed over periphery and catching conveyor belt on length of its multiple wraps. Each plate is installed for vertical displacement from initial position in one direction together with conveyor belt at one full revolution of drum and subsequent return along vertical in opposite direction in to initial position.
