METHOD OF HEAT-INSULATING STRUCTURAL MATERIAL PRODUCTION BASED ON SWOLLEN VERMICULITE Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: technology of building materials; applicable in manufacture of fireproof heat-insulating members and building structures. SUBSTANCE: method includes mixing of swollen vermiculite with binding agent in the form of water glass and process additive; molding of layer and its hot pressing and blowing with hot gaseous and isothermal holding. Prior to mixing water glass is heated to temperature of 40-90 C. Molding and pressing of layer are accomplished on flexible network bottom plates. Isothermal holding is combined with smooth pressure drop for 0.5-5 min. Process additive for acceleration of hardening of binding agent is used in the form of material selected from group including vermiculite dust trapped in process of vermiculite roasting, amorphous silicon dioxide of organic origin - diatomite, tripoli, opoka, industrial wastes containing amorphous silicon oxide - silica gel, microsilica, si-stoff, ash from burning of rice straw. Hot gaseous used in the form of effluent gases of vermiculite roaster, or carbon dioxide gas with temperature of 100-350 C. Blowing is effected through cone-shaped nozzle located on one of heating plates with simultaneous vacuumizing of steam-gas mixture through network bottom plate and cone-shaped holes located on opposite plate.
