FIELD: machine building, processes of polishing and finishing of surfaces of metallic components, preferably sizing of hardened steel ball bearing balls. SUBSTANCE: composition for sizing of steel balls comprises abrasive grinding material, polishing agent, hydrocarbon fluid, and surfactant. Abrasive grinding material is micropowder from white electrocorundum; polishing agent is finely dispersed alumina; hydrocarbon liquid is tool oil, and surfactant is salt of cyclohexyl amine and synthetic C₁₀-C₁₃ fatty acids. EFFECT: high metal removal efficiency, good quality of treatment by said composition, and attainment of geometrical accuracy of balls. 2 tbl
