FIELD: optics. SUBSTANCE: mirror-transformer of light beam with Gaussian distribution of intensity to beam with specified distribution of intensity has profile of radially symmetric thermocapillary deflection. In process of manufacture of mirror-transformer profile of reflecting surface is formed by beam of inducing laser absorbed in layer of liquid photopolymer by way of excitation of thermal capillary convection in layer leading to deformation of free surface of photopolymer taking form of thermocapillary deflection. Transforming properties of deflection surface are simultaneously tested by distribution of intensity in faint beam of sounding laser reflected from deflection. Characteristics of deflection are obtained by variation of power of inducing laser, thickness of layer of photopolymer or its rheological properties. Then entire volume of photopolymer is polymerized with the aid of flash of ultraviolet lamp and after it reflecting coat is deposited.
