FIELD: medical equipment. SUBSTANCE: the steam sterilizer has a body with a through sterilization chamber tightly closed from the ends vertically by movable doors with a drive and assemblies sealing them at the body ends. The steam sterilizer has a steam jacket made outside the body around the sterilization chamber and communicating with the steam preparation and feeding system. Each movable door is made in the form of two plates with a flat rubber chamber between them, positioned for movement relative to each other at an inflation of the rubber chamber and for tight pressing to the sealing assemblies. The steam generation unit is made in the form of electric heating elements installed in the lower part of the steam jacket, whose cavity communicates in the upper part with the sterilization chamber and with the water source. The steam sterilizer is provided with a mechanical lock of the doors, made in the form of strips installed from the bottom on each door, and a movable rod having a length not less than the distance between the strips and installed from the bottom of the body for alternate engagement with the above strips at opening of this or that door. The strips are chamfered, and the movable rod is spring- loaded relative to the body for arrangement of its ends under the chamfers of the strips in its initial medium position.
