FIELD: commercial processing and separation of domestic wastes. SUBSTANCE: method involves preliminary sorting of wastes by separating reusable, hazardous and mineral components; providing self-grinding of remaining part of wastes; separating portion adapted for combustion; sieving noncombustible portion into large-size and small-size fractions; sorting out both fractions by separating hazardous, reusable and mineral materials and separating ferrous and nonferrous metals; upon sorting and separation, directing large-size fraction to combustion devices; subjecting small-size fraction to composting; aerating composted material for separating film remains and sieving for separating biologically inactive particles. Combustion of wastes allows heat and electric energy to be produced. EFFECT: increased efficiency by producing fertilizer with reduced content of hazardous substances and materials, and reduced discharge of hazardous outbursts during combustion of wastes. 8 cl, 1 dwg
