METHOD OF AIR CLEANING FROM HARMFUL IMPURITIES AND DEVICE FOR ITS EMBODIMENT Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: methods and devices for air cleaning from harmful impurities and air conditions of relatively airtight rooms, mainly, in cabins of vehicles. SUBSTANCE: method consists in cleaning of air supplied by fans in two alternating flows from relatively airtight room from moisture and organic harmful impurities by means of adsorption filter, and cleaned from chemisorbed compounds and catalytic poisons by means of low-temperature catalytic filter depending on quantitative-qualitative compositions of harmful impurities present in room air. Carried out in one of flows is alternating regeneration of adsorption filter which is idling at the given moment. Each adsorption filter includes double layer of sorbent in the form of silica gel and activated carbon. Regeneration is effected at the expense of moisture adsorbed on silica gel by heating of this adsorption filter up to temperature of 160 C. Then it is cooled by fan. In so doing, balance of air volumes coming from ambient atmosphere in recess of regeneration to relatively airtight room and air discharged to atmosphere is properly maintained. Device for air cleaning has two fans each of which is connected via adsorption filter and valve box with inlet of low-temperature catalytic filter, heater, controlled air damper installed at inlet of inflow hole, unit of analysis of room air quality ensuring alternating switching on of one fans and corresponding switching over of valves in valve box and successive switching on and off of heater for heating of regenerated adsorption filter and fan connected with said filter. Valve box is made for alternating connection of each of adsorption filter with low-temperature catalytic filter in the course of air cleaning or with hole for discharge of air to atmosphere during regeneration. Arranged in each adsorption and low-temperature catalytic filters are two layers of sorbent in sequence of silica gel-activated carbon in adsorption filters and chemsorbent-catalyst in low-temperature catalytic filter. EFFECT: maintained proper balance of gas flows of forced ventilation and discharge air in process of regeneration, quick cooling of regenerated adsorption filter and in-time switching on and off of device depending on quantitative-qualitative composition of harmful impurities in relatively airtight rooms. 6 cl, 1 dwg
