FIELD: well drilling; applicable in elimination of failure of rope, cable stuck in well. SUBSTANCE: device body accommodates moving in axial direction pusher with inclined recess. Cutters are radially movable in recesses. Pusher drive is made in the form of solid propellant of gas generating member with igniting unit and striking mechanism engaged with igniting unit. Drive actuates gas-generating member. Striking mechanism has spring-loaded inertial bushing and bushing-striker. Device is provided with mechanism for its fixing to rope for device lifting from well after rope cutting. Toothed members of device fixing on rope are located in inclined recesses of bushing-striker and grip the rope under action of gas-generating member. Mechanism for fixing of bushing-striker prevents possible loosening of rope gripping. Provision is made for rope cutting and its gripping above cutting point by energy of explosion of solid propellant gas-generating member that makes it possible to deliver the device to point of cutting and device lifting using the cut rope.
