FIELD: electrical equipment for internal-combustion engines; ignition systems. SUBSTANCE: spark is produced by applying voltage to primary winding of ignition coil, control pulse of definite minimal length is shaped its trailing edge being in time correspondence to optimal spark formation moment, current pulses are shaped in ignition coil to cause high-voltage pulse across secondary winding of ignition coil which is passed to spark plug; in the process primary winding circuit is opened at spark origin to allow for reverse flow of current so as to reduce pulse length. Pulse shaping device has adjustable gate multivibrator supplied with signal coming from Hall-effect transducer and from starter to its input; power transistor control unit with signal coming from pulse difference discriminating circuit applied to its input; power transistor; diode whose cathode is connected to power transistor collector and anode, to motor vehicle ground terminal, and diode whose cathode is connected to transistor collector and anode, to primary winding of ignition coil. EFFECT: improved spark formation at high engine speed due to better quality of ignition coil. 3 cl, 3 dwg
