FIELD: sewing industry. SUBSTANCE: set-in pocket has main offset welt, upper and lower pocket lining layers, intermediate offset welt, and additional offset welt arranged at inner side of article. Intermediate offset welt has slit loop running along lower edge and adapted for closing pocket entrance from outer or inner side by stitching to button arranged on pocket upper lining layer or to button arranged on pocket lower lining layer. Set-in pocket working method involves marking line of arrangement of pocket on predetermined surface on strip lining layer; working and stitching offset welt arranged at inner side of article to strip lining layer; stitching intermediate offset welt with slit loop along lower edge to face side at the level of marked line of arrangement of set-in pocket. Such construction allows access into pocket to be provided from face and reverse sides of article.
