METHOD FOR LINING METALLIC TUBE WITH PLASTIC ENVELOPE Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: protection of tubes against corrosion in pipeline transporting systems. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of inserting plastic envelope inside metallic tube; fitting rings onto tube end portions; heating extended portions of plastic envelopes until their yielding state and flanging them on end and outer surface of metallic tube end portions; shifting rings until superimposing them onto part of flange of plastic envelope and fastening rings by reducing them on outer surface of end portions of metallic tube and simultaneously jamming portions of flange of plastic envelope between outer surface of metallic tube end portions and inner surface of ring end portion; simultaneously performing calibration of rings by their outer diameter for subsequent joining with use of coupling. EFFECT: simplified procedure of lining metallic tube with plastic envelope, enhanced degree of tube protection against corrosion. 3 cl, 1 dwg
