FIELD: engine manufacture; hydrocarbon-fuel fired power units. SUBSTANCE: power unit has combustion chamber 1 with supply system incorporating feeder as part of receiving bin 2 with crushing rolls 3, screw conveyer 4, valve for passing gaseous hydrocarbon fuel, sealing shut-off device 6, thermochemical reactor 7 with containment 8 and coal layer 9, centrifugal pump 10, hydraulic reactor 11 with liquid hydrocarbon receiver 12 and catalyst 13, air metering device 14, gas burner 15, outlet channel 16 communicating with working zone 17 of thermochemical reactor 7, toggle switch 18 for turning on coal layer electric heater, valve 19 for passing gaseous fuel to carburetor 20 of internal-combustion engine 21 whose power shaft is coupled with ac generator 22. Outlet channel of engine 21 communicates with working zone of thermochemical reactor 6. Power unit also has water boiler 24 installed in upper part of combustion chamber 1. Valve 25 is used to pass excess fuel mixture from compressor 26 to receiver 27 and to convey it through valve 28. Channel 29 and car 30 are incorporated in device for evacuating coal and ash residue from thermochemical reactor; water seal 31 functions to prevent air ingress in thermochemical reactor. Pyrolysis of hydrocarbons charged in reactor occurs when coal surface of the latter is warmed up with the result that coal residue and light hydrocarbons are produced.
