FIELD: power engineering; industrial and domestic electric water heaters. SUBSTANCE: supply of water to water heater outlet is discontinued when it is heated to intermediate temperature at water heater outlet, after which heating is continued during period of time required for heating water to preset temperature; then water flows through water hater during time interval when water temperature changes within permissible limits; these procedures are repeated as required. Distance between electrodes-plates is increased in both time intervals at constant voltage fed to water heater; their area is reduced at interval of time of supply of water to water heater outlet. EFFECT: increased specific electric conductivity of water between plates-electrodes; increased thermal energy.
