FIELD: prospecting geology, detection of beds of placers of gold. SUBSTANCE: degree of isometrics of form of gold grains is determined per each test point of placer. Its value is used to make conclusion on closeness of test point to ore body. Sieve analysis of size of gold grains of alluvial gold is conducted to determine degree of isometrics of form of gold grains in each test point of placer. Mass of each fraction with size of 2 mm and over is determined. Number of gold grains in size fraction is counted. Isometric coefficient of gold grains of given size fraction kF is found per each size fraction. With kF≥0,8 0.8 in given test point one makes conclusion that gold-bearing body is close proximity to this test point. EFFECT: enhanced objectivity of determination of isometrics of gold grains, reduced labor input into realization of process, raised accuracy and reliability of exposure of gold-bearing bodies. 2 dwg, 2 tbl
