PROCEDURE DETERMINING POSITIONS OF SOURCES OF ACOUSTIC EMISSION SIGNALS AND DEVICE FOR ITS REALIZATION Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: nondestructive testing. SUBSTANCE: invention refers to acoustic-emission test of leak-proofness of hollow systems placed into liquid medium. In accordance with procedure determining positions of sources of acoustic emission signals these signals are received by family of converters forming two linear acoustic phase arrays oriented orthogonally. Output information for two-dimensional visualization is formed by multiplication of signals, each of them being formed as sum of products of signals of converters of each array, and position of source of acoustic emission is found by visualized two-dimensional image of acoustic field of test zone. Procedure is carried out with the aid of device whose channels of reception of acoustic emission signals compose two paths of horizontal and vertical apertures fitted with control unit. Multiplier of analog signals is placed in series with amplifier in each reception channel. Outputs of all multipliers are connected to adder of each path and outputs of control unit are connected to heterodynes and recorder. EFFECT: increased productivity of test with maintenance of high precision in determination of positions of sources of acoustic emission signals. 2 cl, 2 dwg
