FIELD: independent amplitude and phase control of linear accelerator microwave radiation. SUBSTANCE: device has first symmetrical hybrid 36 assembled of first arm 34 meant for receiving input microwave radiation, second arm 42 coupled with first load 14, and third arm 38 coupled with auxiliary load 40. In addition, device has second symmetrical hybrid 52 set up of first arm 50 coupled with fourth arm 44 of first symmetrical hybrid 36 and third arm 54 coupled with second load 16. First and second movable shorts 58, 62 are coupled, respectively, with second and fourth arms 56, 60 of second symmetrical hybrid 52. Input microwave radiation reflected from first and second movable shorts 58, 62 is passed through second symmetrical hybrid 52 to second load 16. Amplitude and phase of microwave radiation passed to second load 16 can be controlled independently. Preferable alternative implementing proposed device has its first and second loads 14, 16 made in the form of first and second waveguide accelerator sections 1, 2 and its controller 66 is used to introduce adjustable electron beam 20 of linear accelerator 10.
