FIELD: protective member for protective substrates used, for example, in manufacture of banknotes.
SUBSTANCE: protective member has elongated strip of light transmitting polymeric substrate equipped with magnetic feature and metal structure equipped with combination of metal and non-metal regions. Metal structure has signs, symbols, patterns, constructions or geometric figures, or combination of above. Metal structure has at least one repeating pattern, with at least one characteristics selected from group comprising frequency, instant amplitude and/or maximum pattern amplitude being variable along length of member. Pattern is arranged relative to magnetic feature so that it is not overlapped by the latter.
EFFECT: improved public recognition, increased counterfeit resistance and detection.
