FIELD: power engineering; diesel engine starting methods. SUBSTANCE: according to proposed method vapor-gas is pressure-fed into engine cylinders. Vapor-gas is created by decomposition of liquid reagent, for instance, hydrogen peroxide filled in main reservoir on catalytic pack. Liquid reagent is delivered by carrying out decomposition reaction in auxiliary reservoir placed inside main reservoir and furnished with reaction initiator. Rate of reagent delivery to catalytic pack and further on to diesel engine cylinders is regulated by changing velocity of reagent decomposition in auxiliary reservoir by combined selection of type and concentration of reagent in auxiliary reservoir, mass and type of catalyst and size of surface face of reagent in auxiliary reservoir.
