FIELD: analytical methods. SUBSTANCE: method, in particular, is suitable for determining N-phenylmaleimide, N-(o-tolyl)maleimide, N-(p-tolyl)maleimide, N-(p-nitrophenyl)maleimide, and N-(1-naphthyl)maleimide. Sampled substance is hydrolyzed for 1 to 3 min in concentrated acetic acid at 20-25 C, after which optical density of solution is measured at characteristic wavelength.
