FIELD: polymer production. SUBSTANCE: heat- resistant sulfoionite catalysts are prepared by forming cross-linking polymers or their compositions containing sulfonated aromatic groups. Method is distinguished by that aromatic group containing two sulfonic substituents are prevailing, preferably to 100%, and content of monosubstituted aromatic groups is essentially decreased. Such proportion is achieved by using for polymerization process monomer having in aromatic group at least two sulfonic substituents in H form or H-substituted form capable of being converted into H form and/or by extensive sulfonation of aromatic groups in polymer, and/or by removing at elevated temperature, preferably above 150 C, sulfonic groups from majority of monosulfonated aromatic groups contained in sulfonated polymer containing at least di- and monosulfonated aromatic groups. Reactions catalyzed by thus obtained sulfoionites are carried out at temperatures up to 180 C. EFFECT: increased heat resistance of sulfoionite catalysts. 13 cl, 1 tbl, 23 ex
