FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to catalytic chemistry, particularly to a method of producing sulphocationic catalysts for dehydration of alcohols and esterification. Described is a method of producing sulphocationic catalysts, involving treatment of wood processing wastes – sulphonated lignins (lignosulphonates) with sulphuric acid, washing with water to remove excess sulphuric acid and drying with subsequent steam treatment of the obtained product. After steam treatment, additional treatment is carried out with sulphuric acid at temperature of 20-120 °C for 1-4 hours and washing with water to remove excess sulphuric acid, followed by drying.
EFFECT: invention increases catalytic properties of the sulphocationite by depositing additional active centres (sulfo groups) on the surface of the catalyst.
