FIELD: petrochemistry. SUBSTANCE: hydrocarbon mixtures containing at least tert-alkenes and C4 alkadienes in concentration of more than 5% and also other hydrocarbons are reacted with aliphatic alcohols in the presence of acid ion-exchange catalyst followed by distillation of at least unreacted C4. hydrocarbons. In this case, dissolved hydrogen is removed at least from original steam of alcohol(s) or mixture thereof with alcohol(s). Original hydrocarbon mixture and alcohols/are admitted into reaction zone(s) in total amount from 0.3 to 4.5 l/l of catalyst per hour and temperature at reaction zone(s) inlet is maintained at not higher then 50 C, preferably lower than 40 C and outlet temperature is maintained at not higher than 60 C.
