FIELD: industrial inorganic syntheses. SUBSTANCE: initial powders of aluminium, aluminium nitride (30-50 wt %) and additive (5-15 wt %) composed of aluminium chloride or urea, or mixture of aluminium chloride or urea with ammonium chloride or fluoride at ratio 1:2 to 2:1 are placed into reactor, which is then filled with nitrogen to 2-6 MPa, whereupon mixture is lighted, and synthesis proceeds in burning mode under nitrogen pressure.
