FIELD: drilling fluids. SUBSTANCE: reagent containing natural fatty acids those of tall, castor, and linseed oils, and/or synthetic fatty oils with more than 8 carbon atoms (25-50%) supplementarily contains 50-75% of ethylene oxide/propylene oxide copolymer depicted by following structural formula , wherein X is O, N, or CH2; Y is N or CH2; c, a, b =0-2; t, q, g, m, k vary from 0 to 250; d =1-5; R1,R2,R3 are H or methyl; A, B, and G vary from 1 to 120; and 3<(a+b+c)<5; with molecular weight within a range of 5000 to 40000; or physical mixtures of such polyalkylene glycols. In addition, reagent contains 10-30% of lower (C2-C5) monoatomic alcohols and/or oligomeric polyethylene glycols with degree of polymerization 2 to 5, and/or oligomeric polypropylene glycols with degree of polymerization 1 to 3. EFFECT: reduced initial rate of moistening of clayey minerals, reduced friction and filtration coefficient values, and increased aggregation stability. 2 cl, 6 tbl
