FIELD: regeneration of filters of water supply stations. SUBSTANCE: proposed method is based on simultaneous action of energy of acoustic vibrations on filter medium; acoustic vibrations are radiated by systems of radiators and ascending loosening flow of flushing water; filter medium is acted on by directive field of acoustic vibrations (which are variable in frequency); radiators are smoothly located in water layer of filter in horizontal plane. Device for acoustic regeneration of filter medium includes regenerator whose outputs are connected with inputs of system of radiators mechanically secured on mounting structure. Radiators are made in form of electroacoustic converters located in water layer of filter with their radiating surfaces directed towards filter material; regenerators has inverter, master oscillator of signals of technological frequency band at required frequency modulation, pulsed operation synchronizing circuit and permit circuit connected between output of master oscillator and inverter inputs; permit circuit control input is connected with output of pulsed operation synchronizing circuit.
