FIELD: shipbuilding. SUBSTANCE: proposed device has cylindrical transparent housing with float, suspension and flexible hose with weight. Innovation of invention consists in introducing detachable attachment on upper portion of housing for placing optical radiation source on it, for example, laser; optical source is embraced by blank secured on attachment; device includes also unit for securing the weight to flexible hose which is made in form of pipe union with throttle member. Attachment is provided with optical channel for transmission of radiation; L-shaped through channel connected with atmosphere adjoins optical channel; weight is provided with L-shaped through channel whose outlet is connected with throttle member. Float of device is spherical in shape and is provided with contrasting coat; suspension is made in form of halyard with snap hook; mounted additionally on the outside of housing is rigid measuring rule used as intermediate reference point for check of float position. EFFECT: high sluggishness to ship's oscillations; enhanced accuracy of determination of float position relative to draft marks; enhanced reliability of measurement under any weather conditions. 9 cl, 2 dwg
