FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to shipbuilding, particularly, to monitoring indices or operational parameters of ship. Disclosed is a method of determining settling and external condition of a ship hull, characterized by that the state of the observed object is determined based on the results of capturing the camera from the optimum distance to the object with recording the video and/or outputting the image to the monitor and storing the information on available carriers, positioning the camera directly at the observation object is carried out safely for the operator using a camera positioning device – a descending tripod consisting of a frame, supports with wheels, central attachment assembly with retainer, system of tension braces with T-joint, attachment points of camera holder, signal flag and halyard.
EFFECT: this invention solves the following tasks: safe obtaining of visual information, simplicity and availability of use, ease of transportation and storage, versatility of use.
