METHOD OF LIQUIDATION OF POLLUTED UNDERGROUND WATERS Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: ecology, particularly, protection of water reservoirs, namely, sources of underground water supply against pollution with industrial and household sewage. SUBSTANCE: method includes determination of polluted region in water-bearing bed and its boundaries, construction of pumping-out holes, withdrawal of polluted water, construction beyond the boundary of polluted region of injection holes and injection of water through these holes. Boundaries of polluted region is determined by measurement of concentration of polluting substances in length and height of polluted bed. Parallel with withdrawal through pumping-out holes of polluted water, withdrawal of pure water is accomplished for its injection into bed through injection holes whose location with respect to boundaries of bed polluted region is determined by formula given in the invention description. In addition, boundaries of polluted region are controlled by variation of flow rate of pure water injection into bed. The proposed method allows to increase efficiency of liquidation of underground waters polluted with sewage, prevent their spreading, possible localization of polluted region in water-bearing beds with minimal expenditures and withdrawal of water from section of maximum concentration of polluting substances in bed.
