FIELD: forestry and ecological engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves, prior to taking samples, measuring macrostructure of annual layers of wood on undried circle in radial direction of trunk; applying lines and splitting circle in four geodetic directions (North-South, East-West) so as to form plates in axes of geodetic coordinates of model tree; splitting each radial plate into samples of preferably rectangular shape, beginning count from central sample including trunk core; conditioning split central, mid and peripheral samples to equilibrium humidity; measuring density and other physico-mechanical properties; drying samples to absolutely dry state; repeatedly measuring physico-mechanical properties and subjecting dry samples to calcination and analyzing contents of chemical components. Method may be used for conducting physico-chemical analysis of landscape pollutants. EFFECT: improved complexity of wood testing and provision for obtaining precise data in comparing of wood physico-mechanical and chemical factors. 7 cl, 4 dwg
