FIELD: metallurgy of noble metals; applicable in processing of products containing silver chloride, gold, metals of platinum group, nonnoble elements, mainly, water-insoluble residues of dust-sublimates of refining processes. SUBSTANCE: method includes melting of initial material in presence of fluxes forming oxide of alkali metal, separation of melt with predominant content of silver from slag; dissolving of this alloy in solution of nitric acid; precipitation from nitric acid solution of hydroxides of metals-impurities with pH 2-5; reduction melting of platinum metals from alloy insoluble residue and hydroxides.
